The Indo-Owl, Taenaris scylla, is a beautiful brown and white patched owl butterfly from Indonesia. They have wide ranges beyond Indonesia including Malaysia to Australia. The Taenaris species food diet contacts a toxic plant called cycads which are palm-tree like and are known for Müllerian mimicry amongst various species. Müllerian mimicry characteristics such as a "foul taste" when attempted at being eaten by predators allows this species to avoid future harm.
