Brahmaea tancrei ssp., Siberian Owl Moth

This particular species does not feed due to its reduced mouth parts. They display a functioning proboscis that doesn't feed, it is said they can survive on water alone. Their hynotic wing pattern help it avoid being sought after by neighboring prey.
