BFSHWRM-SCM1; Samia cynthia or The Ailanthus Silk Moth is a tan brown silk moth with faint pink highlights and crescent moon patches in each wing. These moths are primarily used for the production of silk fabric, attempts of domestication of these moths is ongoing, however, not as successful as the Eri Silk Moth, a subspecies of the S.cynthia moth, S. c. ricini. The adults do not feed, but can be found in cities and suburbs, or areas where their hostplants "ailanthus" are located.
