MURDER HORNETS?? Close! These are scoliid wasps and are closely related to the currently notorious "murder hornets." And they are just as big, the wingspans of these beauties range between 55 to 65 mm. These specific scoliid wasps are parasitic to beetle grub that often get stung buried underground. Their wings are a deep transparent amber with thickened black and curled antennae atop their heads.
