THE THORNY DEVIL is back and is spread exactly as shown BUT the color is even brighter green!!!! This is the heaviest walking stick in the world and believe it or not.... although it does have pretty pink wings - it cannot fly! Its just to fat! Every collection, every teacher or classroom, anyone interested in curiosities must have this one and here's the reason why...

This Jungle Nymph (Heteropteryx dilitata) is one of the biggest and most beautiful stick insects in the world.  True to its name, these insects are native to the lush tropical forests of West Malaysia and they can also be found behind trees and bushes in Thailand, Java, Sumatra and Borneo.   Whoa....  believe it or not the dung from this creature is  used by the Chinese as a cure for asthma!!    With its unique camouflage of a wide, green body and spikes, you could not distinguish the female Jungle Nymph from a real leaf - day or night!   Fact is, they are fully active and social by twilight looking for food and trying to avoid the lurking predators. - they barely move during the mornings.    Do they hurt people?  Heck, look at those thorns covering every single part of its body, face and legs.  Of course they hurt - it's how it got it's name - The Thorny Devil!   ALREADY SPREAD WITH IT'S WINGS SHOWING as shown in package I'm holding!
